Bill Green face plants twice while mountain biking

The wiley veteran gets closer to nature in a new way

Carrabassett Valley (NEWSCENTER Maine) -- Mountain biking is growing by leaps and bounds and Carrabassett Valley is response to bring more tourists to the region.

The town of Carrabassett Valley has built mountain biking trails for all ability levels.

Allspeed Cyclery and Snow of Portland has established a shop in the Carrbassett Valley Touring Center where guests can rent equipment including highly sophisticated Santa Cruz mountain bikes.

"It's kind of gone from being an underground sport in the 90's" said Chris Carleton, owner of Allspeed.

There are trails for people of all abilities. Josh Tauses, an expert rider, designed many and they definitely reflect his personality.

"I love to ride mountain bikes, so I'm trying to make the trails as unique as they possibly can be," he said.

Bill Green sent over the bars twice, but managed to survive the event saying, "This is a great sport, but stay in control!"
