SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A South Portland Police cruiser was hit Saturday night while the officer was helping Maine State Police at a rollover crash on I-295.
Police said no one was in the police cruiser when a driver hit it around 10:21 p.m. at Exit 2 southbound.
"This is an active scene, please use extreme caution in the area. The Maine State Police is assisting in the investigation of both crashes, police wrote in a Facebook post.
Police said more information may come out as the investigation continues.
